I had no idea there was proggy technical brutal death metal anywhere near this caliber. It's hard to overstate just how well this album succeeds in doing exactly what the band set out to do. You just gotta hear this one out in full. Camelus Dromedarius

Probably my favorite current technical death metal band. Weird as hell. Catchy as fuck. Ripping musicianship without being self-indulgent and wanky. And the vocals are absolutely filthy in the best possible way. I never thought I'd love a band with vox this gross, but they really compliment to music here. The weird phaser effect towards the end of Estranged From Orbit always puts a shit eating grin on my face. Benjamin Caragol
This band is commonly called a Demilich clone (as if that would be a bad thing, given the slim size of Demilich’s discography), but I hear at least as much influence from Timeghoul on this, especially those wonderful harmony vocals. In any case, this absolutely slaps. It seems Phil Tougas can do no wrong. cassandraleo
Ultra-brutal technical death metal from power duo Vulnificus, with blazing percussion, heavy riffing, and churning, guttural vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 14, 2022
This is Defeated Sanity's split with themselves. The first half is rough-and-tumble slams; the second half is prog that's like a long-lost Cynic demo. Surprisingly, the formula works, with enjoyably lo-fi production tying it all together. I hope Defeated Sanity incorporate more prog in the future, instead of relegating it to a one-off experiment. fyeahmetal
